n-resume Rapporteur of the first discussion, held
Saturday October 9, 2010 :
1. To answer the question: What was
the Science and Society (PCyS), which originally occupied the space that eventually (in part) have been in the hands of the self-CEM (Sept-2010)?, proposed to read the document: "The Seminar of Frailes "(SF).
Background reading was proposed SF for these reasons:
a) The need to know the history of the Faculty of Sciences (FC), and the different actors who have contributed to its current configuration.
b) Two of the signatories of the SF were major builders PCyS: Brothers Cocho Gil.
c) Flavio said: "The SF PCyS is direct heir, but with a less dogmatic and more humane." The which already implies a balance of what was the PCyS, but also aspects of what it was ...
short, the PCyS was a collective effort to generate and carry out interdisciplinary scientific work further contribute to the transformation of Mexican society. Founded around 1974, where converged the wave of social transformation in the late sixties (1968, 1971, etc.), And from the beginning he was heavily involved with political struggles, labor, student, and questions the scientific work technical time.

c) the techno-scientific settings and educational alternatives in Latin America and prospective aspects of implementation.

3. The story of "Seminar of the Friars'
The document was written in 1999, back in October, and part was one of the unintended effects of the strike-UNAM CGH. It was published in that year Excelsior newspaper . After the establishment of the Autonomous Oxymoron Seminar (theory of complex systems and networks), also the end product of the strike of CGH, we collected some materials and other political culture ... One of the first material, which provided guidance to the collective work was the SF. The work of the Seminar Oxymoron intended socialize through a website, and various editions of the notebooks as part of Gepah-DNZ, and some materials were made available to the international site Rebellion. 4. General conclusions difficult task
